Helping Hands

Our Helping Hands Child Care Program is available to all students attending St. John the Baptist Catholic School.

Before & After School Care 

This program is available on all school days from 7:00 am to 8:00 am and from 3:00pm to 5:30 pm. Helping hands closes with the school on all early dismissal days.

A Nurturing Space

Helping Hands provides our students a safe environment where they can do their homework, study, play with a variety of toys and games, and also interact with other students.

Simple Pricing

Our program has an hourly rate of $5.00 per hour. We encourage students to have breakfast at home but a light snack is offered in the morning from 6:30 am-7:30 am and a snack/juice will be provided at 3:30 pm in the afternoon.

Student Programs

Our students participate in creative projects and extracurricular activities that stimulate their imagination and enhance their problem-solving abilities.

National Junior Honor Society

7th - 8th Grade

The National Junior Honor Society fosters a supportive educational environment where students are encouraged to excel academically, develop leadership skills, and engage in meaningful community service. The Yearbook Club offers students a unique opportunity to showcase their creativity, collaborate with peers, and capture the essence of the school year, fostering both personal growth and a sense of community. Girl Scouts Club

Various Grades

The Girl Scouts program at SJB fosters an empowering environment where young girls can explore their interests, build essential skills, and develop leadership qualities. Through a variety of activities and community service projects, the program encourages each participant to embrace her unique potential while promoting teamwork and collaboration.

Stock Market Program

8th Grade

The Big Shoulders Fund's Stock Market Program brings business professionals into eighth-grade classrooms to teach stock market basics, investing, and financial careers. This interactive program, led by volunteer teachers, aims to mentor students who lack exposure to these concepts. Professionals share their expertise in a supportive environment, and the program offers financial incentives to both schools and students based on portfolio performance.

Staddle Camp at Brush Creek Ranch

6th - 8th Grade

Every summer, a group of our middle school students has the opportunity to engage in the Big Shoulders Fund program, Staddle Camp, held at Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming, for a week filled with transformative experiences! Throughout the week, they enjoyed activities such as horseback riding, rafting, stargazing, greenhouse gardening, hiking, science classes, and tackling challenges they never imagined they could conquer!

Bricks 4 Kidz

STEM Focused

Our Bricks 4 Kidz classes provide a fun, educational, and enriching play experience for every child. Each session follows a six-week theme, featuring guided instructions that allow kids to create a project, connect it to a motor and battery, and see their ideas come to life. There’s no better way to offer children hands-on enjoyment while they learn practical applications of STEM concepts!

Young Rembrandts

Art Classes

We collaborate with Young Rembrandts to offer their classes in our afterschool clubs and activities. Designed to be enjoyable, these classes not only entertain but also help children enhance their academic skills, fine motor abilities, social interactions, hand-eye coordination, and self-confidence.

Student Council

5th - 8th Grade

Student Council for 5th to 8th graders serves as a vibrant platform for young leaders to cultivate their communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills, all while fostering a sense of responsibility and community engagement. Athletic Programs

St. John The Baptist offers a robust athletics programs through Catholic Youth Organization of Indiana (CYO) , providing opportunities for students in grades 4-8 to participate in a variety of co-ed sports, including soccer, cross country, volleyball, and basketball.
